It was a gorgeous day on the water motoring down to the Catskill area to have our mast put back up. We can now do this because all of the bridges are high enough to allow a masted sailboat to pass.

The navigation channel on the Hudson River is quite narrow, so it was a little unnerving to pass so close to large yachts and having commercial barges passing by us. I was forced to turn and run into their wake because the mast was still laying across our deck. It's time consuming but safer than getting hit sideways. We came across a wonderful lighthouse which is privatly owned called the Hudson-Athens lighthouse. Pic below.

It started as a chilly day with the crew wearing toques and fleece jackets, but as we arrived at the Riverview Marina in the Catskills, it was tee shirt and shorts weather.

The guys here are very skilled and they put up the mast without a hitch. Lynn disappeared once again during this operation as it makes her nervous. After tuning the standing rigging and putting up the foresail, it was time to relax with wine and a delicious dinner.
