Sherry and Trent MacIsaac came down to visit us in Jacksonville. We were the first stop on their 2 week Florida road trip. We decided to visit Jekyll Island in Georgia which we passed on our way down the ICW and wanted to see what the island looked like from land. First stop was The Jekyll Island Club which is an elegant old resort on the west side of the island. We were not able to get there early enough though to enjoy their amazing breakfast.

Later we travelled to the north part of the island called Driftwood Beach where we saw gnarled and weathered trees left behind from years of erosion.

Lunch was found at the Jekyll Island Marina which had a quaint seafood restaurant on site. The food was amazing.

After our return to Jacksonville, we went back to our marina for a few drinks and played Mexican Train up in the clubhouse lounge. Later we drove into Avondale has had wonderful pizza at the Mellow Mushroom. Thursday is Ladies Night, so the ladies were able to get a glass of wine for $1 and beer ( or wine ) for the men at $2 a glass !!!

The next morning we met up with Sherry and Trent again and had a buffet breakfast at their hotel. At this time we were told that tickets just went on sale that morning for "Hamilton". Excitedly we walked a couple of blocks to the ticket office and lined up. The expected wait was over an hour, but we thought we would wait it out. After about 15 or 20 minutes in line, I thought to look at the dates for the theatre event. Well it turns out it was not coming out until March 17th a couple of weeks after we would return to Canada. Oh well. Good thing we didn't wait for the whole hour!!
