When I was a kid, I was a real space junky. I followed the US space program religiously. I saved every newspaper article and stuffed them in a box. I still remember sitting in front of the TV in July 1969 when Neil Armstrong stepped on the moon. Well I took an Amtrak train from Baltimore to Washington this morning and visited the Smithsonian Air and Space museum to see the actual space suit that Neil Armstrong wore when he stepped on the moon. Just for a moment I was that same little kid again.


I hope that some day Lynn and I can come back to Washington and check out all the rest of great museums here.


Please note that one of the pics below shows the toilet they used on the MIR space station ( the one used by females ). I guess our marine toilet is really not that bad after all !! Ladies wouldn't you like to hook yourself onto that when you had to pee :-)
