With the time change, we left a little later than we had hoped. Under beautiful sunny skies, we crossed over Albemarle Sound. Winds were light, so the waves were not as bad as we thought they might have been.

As we crossed the sound, we could see in the distance ,Kitty Hawk which was where the Wright brothers flew the first airplane. It was interesting because I had just seen the Wright Brothers exhibit at the Air and Space museum in Washington.

We ended up at Alligator River Marina. Yes, there are alligators in the area apparently. They are more wild and are afraid of humans up here because they are not fed like they are in South Carolina and Florida. Haven't seen any ...yet
