In preparation for the coming storm, I moved the dinghy off the davits letting it float near the front of the boat securely fastened to the dock. The "safety officer" also discovered that a couple of lifelines were tied to the pulpit rails with fiberglass tape. Completely unacceptable. We were able to secure the parts from the onsite marine store here who were very helpful.

The decision was made to get more groceries. I thought we could just call our friends at Uber since the marina said the store was over a mile away ( and the rain was going to start soon ). Well no...we had to walk because Lynn said she needed the exercise. With no sidewalks we walked along the highway to the grocery store. It felt like 2 miles but I am sure it was around 1.5. We did take an Uber back because by this time the rain had started. While we waited for the Uber to arrive, I went in to check out the TSC store next door for their portable generator/inverters. Well out I came with a new 2000W generator so that we could have all the comforts of home while off the grid.

The crew is now sitting in the boat before dinner. The wave motion from the storm is just beginning. We are expecting wind gusts up to 49 knots tonight at around 1am tonight ( gale force winds are 35 knots )

As an additional precautionary measure, we exchanged our long stem wine glasses for short stem ones. It is very important that we not have any wine spillage onboard.

Here is a picture of Alice who is not at all impressed with what is going on.
