Now officially in South Carolina ! Another straight-forward day of travel. I did see more dolphins which I took a video of but I can't post on this site. They don't have support unless you it posted on Youtube or Vimeo. I may post it on Facebook.

One thing I forgot to mention in my last note was some of the interesting things we saw and heard on the dock. One was a bit of a sad story. This couple from North Carolina had a dream to sail down to Florida. Money is tight so they sold their house and bought an older boat with the extra funds to be used to help with travel costs etc. Turns out that the boat they bought had a big engine problem, so they are stuck in South Harbour Village Marina waiting for mechanic to fix their engine. The husband had indicated to me that this trip is really eating into their savings which there was little of. So sad, but they were still very determined to get the trip going and make that dream come true.

The other story was about this huge 65 foot Hattaras style power boat that was Parker right behind us. The captain ( the owner was inside the yacht ) was filling up with fuel. It has two tanks. One is 500 gallons and the second tank is 1400 gallons. So to fill up from empty tanks would cost him almost $6000 ( $3 /gallon ). The captain said that this boat on cruising speed would consume 130 gallons an hour ! That's $390 per hour ! Compare that with FBG with an 18 gallon tank and burning 1/2 a gallon an hour ! Anyway, nice to be rich.

Right now we are staying at the Myrtle Beach Yacht Club in North Myrtle Beach for tonight and tomorrow night. Nasty weather is coming in tomorrow, so we thought we would ride it out here instead of traveling. Starting Tuesday night into Wednesday the temperature will drop down to freezing with a high of 9C ( I know,... that is warmer than Dover right now ). Compare that with today having a high of 20C ( I am wearing shorts as a write this, sorry ). It will be a cold run to Osprey Marina in Myrtle Beach where I will reunite with Lynn !!
