We started out at 5:45 am before the sun came out. It was 4C with a windchill of 0C. Navigating in the dark was a bit scary. I would stare down at my marine gps app and use it to guide us out into the channel but also using a flashlight to actually see the marker posts on the water. We got through this with no problem and watching the sun rise. It was still very cold for most of the day. The wind was blowing out of the north at 15 gusting to 24 knots. Eventually the wind died down, the temps rose and we ended with a very nice day on the water. I saw another dolphin. No alligators yet.

We did end up grounding out on this trip. The channel was tight and we ended getting stick in the mud. Even though the current was trying to push us further into the shallow water, Fat Bottomed Girl would have none of that and she was able drive out in reverse, pivoting the nose over and scooting out back into the channel. She's one tough girl. Nothing was going to hold her back.

Camp Lejeune , a US Marine Corps base camp was seen along our route. Some very scary signs were posted along the ICW indicating that the firing of weapons were possible if the "red light" was flashing. The red light was not flashing so we were able to proceed down the channel.

Harbour Village Marine ( Note the "o"u"r" in harbour spelling ) where we are staying at is very nice. We can actually see the main marine building where the showers and washroom are from where FBG is tied up ( about 20 yards ). The only problem is that it is across the channel. To get there we have to walk 1/2 mile around all the boats in the harbour ( and back ). I was trying to find out if I could get an Uber to take me to the washroom!

Only one night here so I can suck it up.
