The day started out with a little rain and then having to wait for the lift bridge operator to show up. Many of these drawbridges share the same operator during a shift. Once a bridge has been opened and then closed, the operator has to then jump in their vehicle and drive to the next bridge along the canal so they can raise the next one up for you. Its nice when you're in sync with a particular operator, but they sometimes get delayed by traffic etc and then you're left waiting at the next bridge. Normally this is just a minor inconvenience, but with today's high winds and current, staying in place was quite difficult especially when you have large dredging equipment docked nearby leaving less room to maneuver.

The day got better once the sun came out and we passed by a number of apple orchards.

Lynn made a fantastic lunch of baby spinach, chicken and feta salad while we were on the go. Once we start we keep going until it's time to stop for the night. My first mate is becoming very proficient in the galley.

The quaint little town of Brockport, New York will be our resting spot for tonight. Unlike Middleport, this place has everything including WiFi which allowed me to post the last 3 days of our journey.....for only $15.00 per night!
