This morning after enjoying a hot shower we headed out for our first big grocery shop. With backpacks and hiking shoes we walked a mile or more....…uphill to Wegmans. Laden down with bags we hiked back and had a coffee break in town. Did I forget to tell you that Lynn found a TJ Maxx in the same strip mall. :(

After a beautiful two hour cruise we reached our destination of Spencerport. We proceeded to successfully dock against a concrete wall that showed a depth of 4 and a half feet. We draw 5 ft 3 inches. Needless to say we got stuck in the mud. The dockmaster told us afterwards that sailboats usually dock on the other side of the canal. Where were the signs?? Luckily FBG needed just a little rocking and cajoling to set her free and we were able to find a more suitable depth.

I should mention that during the trip we had a curious heron following us. It was quite fun seeing him dash off as we got closer, wait for us a hundred yards ahead and repeat his fly off as we got closer.

We also met up with two couples traveling in a rented canal boat who shared previous sailing experiences they had had on the intracoastal.

Dave Black, our friend from Port Dover Marina let us know that he's not too far behind us. Hopefully we'll see him soon.
