Well the plan on how we take the boat down to Florida has now changed a little,,.....ok a lot.

Lynn had always been nervous about going on this trip but persevered anyway, through all its highs and lows. She thought she could fight through her fears and anxiety. There were moments where the uncertainty and the challenges of this type of travel were just too much for her to deal with. We both acknowledged that this boat trip has been more difficult than we had expected. The terrible weather conditions we encountered socked us into harbours for days. It was after a very rainy, windy and rocky night on a mooring ball this week that forced us to have a frank conversation. Lynn could not go any further. We both decided that maybe the best thing would be for Lynn and Alice to head back home and we find a way to get the boat down without her.

The locals here have been fantastic and after some discussions about whether to ship the boat or have someone help me one of the locals here found someone who could help me take the boat down. I have met and hired a crew member today who has done this trip many times. Jon is a retired trial lawyer who loves doing this. At first morning light tomorrow ( Thursday ), he and I will take FBG down to Annapolis on the Chesapeake and it looks like he may even be able to help me take it right down to Florida ( assuming we get along on this first leg ).

This plan gets Lynn back to more comfortable and safe surroundings and I get to continue the journey. Lynn will rejoin me once I get the boat settled at a nice marina down in Florida. Hopefully that won't take too long.

I am proud of Lynn for doing this trip for as long as she did considering the circumstances. I know over time she will forget the lows and look fondly upon the highs which were many.

I will continue the blog and keep everyone informed of where I am and what I have seen. Thanks for your support. It is great to hear all the comments when we sign in.
